How a story gets written

People sometimes ask how one person writes several branching novels, so here is the honest shape of it.

Everything starts from canon documents: a story bible, a style guide, and for each story an outline plus a living progress file. Those are the source of truth. Nothing gets drafted while they are closed, because prose written without them does not fit the story and gets thrown away, which I learned the expensive way.

The outline is mine. The first draft is mine. Every decision about who these women are, what they want, and what a scene is doing comes from me before any tool touches the text. After that, AI helps with drafting and revision passes, and then the chapter has to survive a chain of automated checks I built: is every route reachable, does every variant scene actually render for someone, could a pronoun attach to the wrong man, has the narrator's voice drifted. A chapter that fails a check is not done, no matter how nice it reads.

So: human authors, tool assists, gates decide when it counts. That order does not change.
