Reine arrives

The second story is here.
Reine is set in Belle Époque Paris, 1893. She is the most visible woman in a city that has made an art of looking: celebrated, photographed, placed on a pedestal and kept there. The paintings she makes for herself she keeps where no one can reach them.
The story gives her two people who will not leave that alone. A composer who hears what her paintings feel like before he has even seen them. A critic who cannot rest until he has looked underneath the surface of her, not as an observer passing through but as someone who suspects there is something worth finding. They are not wrong. They are also not simple.
Like Hyunjae, Reine is a complete romance with its own world and its own ending. It stands alone, and it also connects to something larger. That connection is not announced anywhere. It is just there, quietly, for anyone who notices it.
There is also a small update to the About screen, where Liuyan is now named and waiting. She is not here yet, but she is close. Tang Dynasty China, around 750, and a road with more on it than it first appears.
Thank you for reading.
