The fourth story

There is a fourth story on the shelf now, and I am not going to tell you whose it is.

She is the story I have been circling the longest, and she turned into the biggest thing in the game. There are more roads through her life than I have ever built into one woman's, and she took longer to write than anything before her. If the other stories are rooms, this one is a house you can get a little lost in. And where the first three reach back across the centuries, she does not. Her story is set now, in the present day, a deliberate step out of the past and into a world you will recognise. That closeness is the point.

What can I say without saying too much? She lives two lives, and almost no one sees the whole of her. That is all you get from me. Finding out who she is, and deciding who gets to see her, is the reading.

One practical note: her story unlocks once you have finished three of the others. She was written to be met late, and she reads best that way. Until then, her place on the shelf keeps its secret. And as always, the more intimate scenes sit behind the age toggle in Settings. Nothing new there, just the same door in the same place.

The other half of this update is Liuyan. Her story has been rewritten the way Hyunjae's and Reine's were before her: not a polish, but a retelling. Fuller chapters, more of her interior life on the page, the quiet scenes finally given the time they were always asking for. The shape of her story has not changed, your saves carry over, and every place your choices led is a place they still lead. If you read her before, she is worth reading again. I think she was always this person, I just had not written all of her down yet.
